FOREWORD By The Chairman Thank you for your interest in the North Staffordshire Conference and Seminar Centre. You'll find that our purpose-designed building can accommodate professional, formal and informal gatherings in modern, light and airy surroundings. It's built-in flexibility and quality catering means that the needs of most organisations and individuals can be met under one roof. Because the North Staffs Conference Centre operates within the registered charity, this can be done at the most competitive rates. Introduction The North Staffordshire Medical institute was established in the 1960's as an independent charity to provide funds for medical and surgical research and to facilitate medical education. Whilst the education and research aspects of our work continue to be funded by the charitable donations, the North Staffs Conference Centre operates as a registered charity with any surplus monies being used to fund medical research and education in accordance with the terms of the trust. It can be hired at most attractive rates by individuals, groups, organisation or company, whether medical or otherwise. In 2001, our Conference and Seminar building was completely refurbished by award-winning architects. This has continued in 2005. It now provides a modern facility for displays, exhibitions, seminars, meetings, conferences and even social occasions. It contains lecture theatres and a range of flexible seminar and meeting rooms that can be provided with modern audio-visual equipment. There are also a number of informal seating areas, a bistro and rooms for private dining. Most areas are air-conditioned.
